One of our more exciting curations is the Bubble Peeling Pad by Wish Formula. Mainly because I find it so much fun to use!  I’m always on the lookout for the next high performing exfoliating product and I was really impressed by the effectiveness of Korea’s Wish Formula C200 Bubble Peeling Pad (also known as the squish and bubble mesh mask). It’s a single use pad loaded with vitamins and AHAs. So whilst those chemical exfoliants are getting to work, lots of nourishing vitamins are making their way into your skin.

What is chemical exfoliation?

First off, it’s not as harsh as it sounds. It’s a great way of removing those dead skin cells without moving the bacteria around your skin like a regular scrub would. Koreans love AHAs and BHAs, and most western brands are coming out with their version of chemical exfoliation. If a product has some level of BHAs (beta hydroxy acids) and AHAs (alpha hydroxy acids) in them, it’s always good to check the packaging for the percentage levels of any acids such as glycolic acids (AHA) or salicylic acid (BHA). An AHA will gently remove dead skin cells which is great for aged or sun damaged skin as AHAs will leave you with brighter renewed skin. BHAs act as an anti-inflammatory with antibacterial properties which is perfect for acne prone and oily skin. The bubble peeling pad only has AHAs. Always use sunscreen in the morning after using any AHAs and BHAs.

Why is Wish Formula’s bubble pad any good?

Wish Formula are so proud of their product they’ve patented it. This k-beauty pad is the only one like it on the market. Sales have been crazy in Korea and is heavily sought after in the USA.  The pad has natural AHA ingredients and natural extracts. I wouldn’t say this product is a skin peel, but it definitely gives a fantastic exfoliation and combats dull skin. As I’ve mentioned in a previous blog, you’ll know that Vitamin C is one of my top active ingredients, and this pad has 200mg of pure Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid) to brighten your skin. It also has fermented botanical extracts, which are easily absorbed by the resurfaced skin. It contains glycolic acid & lactic acid (AHAs) which gently clears dead skin cells, fantastic to renew dull skin. Hyaluronic Acid which will bring back moisture to the skin. It also has rice extracts which are known for brightening the skin and my honest review is my skin definitely glows after using the C200 bubble peeling pad and is so so soft.

Bubble Peeling Pad use

How I like to use the Bubble Pad

Use it in the evening before bed – I like to do a Korean double cleanse on my skin first with Klairs Black Cleansing Oil then Cosrx Low PH Foam Cleanser. Then rip open the packet and take out the pad.  The pad has a little ribbon on the back to slip two fingers into, work up the bubbles then use the other fibrous side to massage your face in circular motions avoiding your eye and lip area.  Do this for two minutes, then turn over the pad, flip the ribbon to the other side and use the softer side to pat in the vitamins. Rinse off the foam with water and pat dry. I do like to keep the pad in the packet for a two more days (no more) and get a few more days use out of it. But be careful, depending on your skin type you don’t want to over exfoliate dry skin. This product may not be suitable for sensitive skin, so if you do have sensitive skin ensure you do a patch test first.  After using the pad I like to use the Benton’s BHA Aloe Toner, then apply Aromatica Rose Fluid and then use Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream as a sleeping mask.  I always like to use a sleeping mask and/or sheet mask after I exfoliate to really hydrate and nourish my skin for maximum glowing results. GIve it a try! Wish Formula’s C200 Bubble Peeling Pad costs £4.
