Reader warning: This is another blog where I talk about one of my most favourite brands, Klairs! I’m truly obsessed and I can’t help it. This fabulous Korean brand is our bestselling, and is getting increasingly popular here in the UK. Their sensitive skincare line suits all skin types and works for so many of our customers. We are consistently selling out of Klairs Deep Black Cleansing Oil
and Klairs Vitamin C Serum
. But as the April showers have now faded away and we move firmly into the summer months, it’s a great time to start thinking about sun protection from the Klairs Blue Care. I’ve written previously
about their Midnight Blue Calming Cream
which was also featured in Fabulous Magazine in the Sun. Now I want to tell you about their latest product, the Klairs Midday Blue Sun Lotion SPF 40/PA++ UK.
K-Beauty brand Klairs have two products in their Blue Care line and with these products they aim to be “#Themostcomfortableskincare”. The star ingredient of the Midnight Blue Calming Cream
and Klairs Midday Blue Sun Lotion
UK is Guaiazulene: A herbal extract from Chamomile which is naturally dark purple in colour giving the Blue line it’s signature shade! The Klairs Blue line is specialized to soothe heat and UV irritation and can be used for all skin types.
I cannot stress the importance of sun protection enough. It is the single most important thing you can do for your skin. Koreans are obsessed with protecting their skin from the sun and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun. Why? Because it’s the number one reason for premature ageing of the skin, leading to sun spots and pigmentation. Even here in the UK it’s important that we follow this ethos. There is a tendency to neglect sun protection when we see those cloudy skies, but those UV rays still get through. I was a sun worshipper in my 20s and am paying the price now in my 30s with uneven skin and a lot of pigmentation. The Korean’s have stunning flawless skin as they take care of their skin and always always wear SPF, in Summer and Winter.
Benefits of Klairs Midday Blue Sun Lotion
- The pale blue shade of the sunscreen covers redness to even out the overall skin tone.
- Blocks direct heat from the sun to prevent the skin from overheating.
- Guaiazulene, it’s star ingredient, is so effective in skin cell regeneration. It also cools down and soothes inflammation in damaged skin.
Testing the Midday Blue Sun Lotion
The lotion comes in a big 50ml tube and is easy to dispense. Squeezing out a little of the Midday Blue Sun Lotion you can feel it’s a very light weight formula and absorbs quickly into the skin. It feels very cooling and soothing on the skin, the lotion also reduces a lot of redness around my nose and chin, and evens out my skin tone. Immediately my skin feels moisturised, it’s definitely a very hydrating lotion. After testing out with lots of my different products. For my combination skin I find this lotion works well with the Seven Skin Method (so hydrating, read about this method here), followed by the Klairs Vitamin C Serum and then the Klairs Midday Blue Sun Lotion
. My skin can get oily in the summer so I find there is no need for a moisturiser if I’m using the lotion, but I always properly hydrate with a moisturiser in my evening routine. This is what I love about the Klairs line, they are suitable for all skin types, it’s just how you put together your skincare routine to ensure they are used correctly for your skin type. If you need more help and would like a tailored Korean skincare routine, email us on firstname.lastname@example.org
. I also don’t bother with a make-up primer when using the Klairs Midday Blue Sun Lotion, this multifunctional lotion preps my skin ready for my foundation and helps my makeup to last all day.
What’s in the Midday Blue Sun Lotion?
Klairs lotion contains Niacinamide which hydrates and brightens the skin. Adenosine fights the formation of fine lines and wrinkles. Guaiazulene calms and soothes skin. Whilst Sodium Hyaluronate hydrates the skin. Paeonia Lactiflora Root Extract helps to reduce pigmentation and even skin tone. Centella Asiatica Extract is rich in amino acids, beta carotene, fatty acids and phytochemicals – superfoods for skin! Helps to boost antioxidant activity and fight the signs of ageing.
How to use Klairs Midday Blue Sun Lotion UK
Klairs Midday Blue Sun Lotion should be used as the last step of your Korean skincare routine. Take a suitable amount and gently apply to the entire face, then pat in. Once the sunscreen is fully absorbed you can use Klairs Midday Blue Sun Lotion as a makeup base. It’s a great primer to then apply your foundation on top. As with all sun lotions make sure you apply at least 15 minutes prior to sun exposure and if you are out in the sun for a long time reapply every 2 hours or as needed.
