Late night? Eyes like a Panda? Cure dark circles with Tony Moly Panda's Dream Eye Patch

If it's one thing I’ve noticed since entering my thirties, it's how quickly and easily I can transform from looking my best to looking my worst after a night out, or when I don’t get enough sleep. The tell-tale signs for me: dark circles under my eyes. I’ve always suffered from them, but they become even more apparent if I haven’t drunk enough water or don’t get enough sleep. And I’ve noticed that it’s been made even worse by the dry, cold weather. I’ve been on a never-ending quest to find products that combat dark circles, or makeup to cover them up. Under eye concealers and brightening powders (my favourites are from Laura Mercier) do a fantastic job of highlighting the skin under my eyes, however, some days I need to combat the source of the problem. When we review what's on the market there are numerous under eye patches available and I started out with the pricier: Rodial, Guerlain and Shangpree. From my experience, these products came at a price that wasn’t matched by performance. So I was surprised with the results when I tried Tony Moly’s Dream Eye Patch from Korea for the first time. I really wanted to write a review on Tony Moly Panda's Dream Eye Patches for you because for such an insignificant amount of money, the results were certainly significant. One of the big differences between these and the other brands, is that they can cover the whole eye area. If you want, you can lift the patches up so that you can sit and watch TV at the same time, but it’s worth taking 20 minutes to close your eyes, leave the patch over your eyelids and relax. They really hydrate the eye area as you’d expect, but what really sets them apart from the rest, is how effective they were at reducing my dark circles. Korean skincare wins again with these Tony Moly Panda Dream Eye Patches. And at only £2.75 a pair, they’re considerably more inexpensive than the competition.

Tried & Tested: My favourite times to use them:

  • Hungover before work
  • Before a big night out/date
  • On a hen party or spa night in with the girls
  • Before a wedding
  • On the plane (the atmosphere in a plane cabin leads to dehydrated skin and dark circles)
  • R&R night in with a cup of tea and whale music

What are they?

Open the packet and inside are two black round cotton eye patches soaked in essence, specially formulated to revitalise the skin around the eyes, reduce dark circles and fine lines…all whilst looking like a panda. These eye patches have been formulated with Bamboo (an antioxidant), Aloe Vera, Cucumber and Vitamin B3, they work hard to brighten and moisturise the eye area. They also contain Glycerin and Allantoin which helps to create smooth, healthy skin (you can find the full list of ingredients at the end of this blog). Tony Moly Dream Eye Patches are suitable for all skin types whether you have mature, young, dry or oily skin. Tony Moly Panda Pouch

How to use the patches

After a Korean double cleanse, tone and moisturise your skin – you don’t want the rest of your face from drying out when eye masking. Open the sachet and gently place each patch on the eye area. Open the patches if you want to see or leave closed for best results. Leave on for 10-20 minutes, if you have the time I’d advise you leave them on for 20 minutes for best results. Then remove and apply your eye moisturiser. I like to tap on a drop of Aromatica’s 100% Organic Argan Oil (another amazing Korean skincare brand) afterwards to really hydrate under the eyes. Take a drop, warm between your fingers and tap under your eyes for ten seconds. Wearing the Tony Moly Panda Patches

The alternatives

This mask covers the whole under eye area as well as your nose. It doesn’t combat dark circles as well as the Tony Moly Dream Eye Patch, but the fermented honey is super hydrating. Wish Formula’s Bat Eye Mask is rich in Vitamin C, adenosine, centella and fermented honey. This fantastic combination provides excellent anti-wrinkle and anti-ageing effects on the eye-zone as well as strong hydration and a soothing effect to brighten skin tone.
